1. General
1.1 These terms and conditions are applicable to all items of any value borrowed from the Information & Learning Technology Group (ILTG) in the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School (UCD Smurfit School) by any person.
1.2 The loan service is for the use of UCD Smurfit School Staff & Students, but can be made available to 3rd parties if their business is on campus or directly relates to the School.
1.3 You may be required to show a current and valid UCD Student or Staff UCARD to verify your entitlement to use this service. 3rd parties may need a UCD Staff member or student to “sponsor” loans on their behalf, and the sponsor is responsible for the item loaned while it is on loan.
1.4 Items remain the property of ILTG, the Smurfit School or University College Dublin, as appropriate, at all times.
2. Terms of Loans
2.1 Loans do not have a minimum or maximum duration; the term can be agreed with the ILTG representative with whom you arrange the loan. At different times of the year, in particular, we may see more or less demand for loans and this will be reflected in the agreeable loan durations
3. Abuse of the Loan Service
3.1 Users who do not adhere to these terms and conditions or who are deemed to be abusing the service, may be temporarily or permanently banned from using the service.
3.1.1 Examples of such abuse would be not returning items, not returning them in a timely fashion, damaging items through misuse or using them for other than their intended purpose or a user taking the same item for loan very frequently instead of sourcing their own.
4. Late Returns
4.1 If you cannot return an item before the agreed loan end date & time, please notify ILTG in writing by replying to the email you will have received making a record of your loaning the equipment in question. If you do not have access to email, you can make the notification by phone and confirm by email subsequently. There are numerous way to contact us.
4.2 Items not returned after seven days having elapsed following the agreed loan end date & time (not including the agreed end date), will be considered lost and you will be liable for the replacement cost of the item as detailed in Section 5.1 below.
5. Loan Item Values
5.1 The following items are available through the loan service, and have the following monetary replacement values associated with them:
- Laptop Computer – EUR1200.00
- Laptop Charger – EUR150.00
- Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter – EUR60.00
- USB Mouse – EUR50.00
- USB Keyboard – EUR50.00
- Speakers – EUR100
- Webcam – EUR100
- Clicker – EUR50
